Zadyra’s dance experience began at age 3, taking both ballet and tap as a means to relieve her excess energy and foster posture and discipline. By age 5 there was no question that ballet had become a passion. In her early teens, while training under Wanda Hamilton, Zadyra performed at the Keswick Theater, including excerpts from the Nutcracker and the Can-Can, as well as participating in magic stunts. In her twenties after leaving dance for several years, Zadyra found an exciting new area of dance and fell in love. In her own words, “The female body has been misunderstood and mistreated for many years. Belly dance has enabled me to break out of the modern world’s image and invite an earthy and truely female understanding to re-energize and rebuild my confidence and self image.” Her initial foray into belly dance was at adult evening school. Quickly thereafter she research and interviewed local belly dance instructors until she found the perfect fit. The passion was reawakened. After many years of dance instruction and working back stage for Lurainya’s World Dance Extravaganza performances Zadyra is eager to share her knowledge and skill and love of belly dance with others. Trained in cabaret and tribal fusion: her dance style emerges as American Bellydance Fusion.
