Is it time for your practice to make the leap into theatrical bellydance? Need the tools to express yourself, your vision and your art more fully? This high-spirited, concept-driven class presents a range of evocative moods - spirited, celebratory, passionate, slatternly... maybe even a little bit of Evil. Onça has undertaken ongoing study of Narrative bellydance, and is on a serious mission to nurture authentic self-expression among the world's Tribal Fusionistas. And, this class is GREAT for getting dancers laughing, building community, and making memories.
12 PM Nadira of Serenity Tribal: ATS® for everyone!
Calling all ATS®/ITS, tribal-fusion, gypsy fusion, tribaret and everything in between dancers. Serenity Tribal, a fatchancebellydance® sister studio, is bringing the fat chance to everyone’s belly dance! We will demystify ATS® movement and vocabulary and reveal the secrets to ATS® improvisation. Whether you are looking to start your ATS® journey, refine your technique or put the tribal in your fusion, let Serenity Tribal teach you how to open up your box of ATS® spices! This is an intermediate level workshop.
2 PM Madame Onca: Ass-Kicking Sexy-Tasm
The single most radical form of activism for a modern woman is to be comfortable in your own skin. Seriously. Whatever your story, whatever your body, many of us come to bellydance to rediscover our sensuality in a new, joyful, compassionate way. Turns out that allowing ourselves to feel strong and sassy makes every aspect of life just, well, better. Sexy walks, dynamic stage presence, theater games, and saucy combos project a powerful, unapologetically delicious you to your audience... and everyone wins.

Nadira of Serenity Tribal
http://www.serenitytribal.com/ Based in South Hampton Roads, Virginia, Serenity Tribal dance troupe performs in American Tribal Style® belly dance, a dance style that fuses traditional steps and movements from cultures across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Western Europe. ATS® uses "structured improvisation" - the dancers use small nonverbal cues to tell each other what they're going to do next. It does not use choreography (except on rare and specific occasions). The beauty of ATS® is in the synchronization of the dancers and the elegant and powerful movement vocabulary. |
